Orange is the new red
Wednesday, March 12, 2014Trending this season..

From Fashion week to red carpets orange lipstick is trending through out the beauty world. Celebrities and Models have been seen sporting the preppy and playful colour on their pouts in masses since mid 2013, and longer. It is super brightening to complement any face, and glamourous for any occasion. Pair with metallic eyeshadows, a smokey eye or a sexy cat flick for that glamour effect.
I was shown a brand of lipstick this week, which is unique. Shanghai Suzy produces different colours per season and never re-releases the same colours once sold out. You could claim their lines are limited. My point is that I picked up their Miss Jade Orange Formula Matte, I'm not impressed with their lipstick it flaked and became chunky on my lips within an hour. Although, I am in love with the orange trending.
Orange, whether it be neon, almost red or sheer, looks great on any skin tone. You too can achieve a punchy pout all year 'round.
I beg you to play around with different shades, consult a beauty advisor at your local cosmetic counter. I feel that orange looks fabulous on everyone! Remember there are 100's of different shades to choose from. Try oranges with yellow, red or blue bases if you're pale. Go more peach, or sheer, if you're not keen on neon. Neon looks incredible and gives your pearly whites a boost.
Favourites of mine are:
- MAC Morange (pictured above)
- Maybelline Colour Sensations Vivid in Electric Orange
- NP Set Lipstick in Noosa
- Revlon Lustrous Lipstick in Siren
