One thing I try to do for myself and everyone around me is smile, whether it be to the lady who makes my morning coffee or the businessman who I cross paths with weekly or just a random old lady who was walking her dog at 6am this morning.
You might feel funny at first, but just start smiling. I know I probably look like a right old git but it honestly makes me feel better too. I know that if I am having a horrible day I crack a smile, even if I could be close to tears. It's strange but it releases endorphins and makes me feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulder. Also spurs me into breathing deeper.
I see a lot of people everyday and it's never nice for anyone, or productive, if someone is just being a plain dick to you. I try and think of these people complexly and wonder what is going on in their lives which might make them take their issues out on the world over an egg shortage (yes, this happened recently). It blows my mind!
If there is one thing you should do today that is smile more, it makes things a little bit brighter and the rest of the world might appreciate it too (I know I certainly do).
